A self-described "kid at heart," Dr. Salvatore has always loved working with children. As a pediatrician, he provides care for children of all ages, with special interests in sports medicine and in promoting overall wellness.

Christopher Salvatore, MD, is an Arizona native who grew up in Tempe. He's an avid tennis player who was a two-time state champion during high school. He still enjoys attending matches at his alma mater Brophy College Preparatory.

When he's not working, Dr. Salvatore loves spending time with his wife, daughter and two dogs. He also enjoys running, hiking and playing tennis.

Sumeet Gill, DO

Sumeet Gill, DO, practices general pediatrics and newborn care with an integrated approach that focuses on building relationships with patients and their families. Passionate about global health, she strives to promote wellness within the community and the workplace.

A graduate of Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania, Dr. Gill completed her residency at Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital.

“I enjoy children’s resilience, innocence and desire to change,” says Dr. Gill. “My goal is to encourage my patients to take ownership of their health. I want to empower them to make healthier choices from a young age.”

She is grateful to be at Phoenix Children’s, where a wide range of specialists work together to keep children healthy.

An avid cook, Dr. Gill enjoys exploring different cultures through cuisine. She also spends as much time as possible outdoors.

Kajal Patel, MD

Kajal Patel, MD, earned her medical degree at The Ohio State University School of Medicine.

She completed an internship and residency at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine, Children's Hospital of Orange County.

Dr. Patel first knew she wanted to be a pediatrician during a college medical mission to Honduras. There she was inspired by the doctors and nurses who were able to help so many in need.

A desire to be closer to family brought Dr. Patel to Phoenix. She's excited to work alongside a network of physicians dedicated to providing all children access to quality care and specialty services.

Dr. Patel takes time to listen and know patients and families in order to provide care tailored to their needs. She helps her patients establish healthy habits early to promote good health throughout their lives.

When she's not working, Dr. Patel loves cooking with her family and being outdoors, hiking and gardening.

Alexandra Thompson, MD

Alexandra Thompson, MD, earned her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque. She completed her pediatric residency at Phoenix Children’s and completed an additional year as chief resident. During her residency, she received the IPASS Award for her engagement in patient-family centered care.

Patients are always at the center of Dr. Thompson’s care. Understanding that parents know their children best, she listens closely to their concerns to create a care plan everyone feels comfortable with.

When she’s not working, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and dog, Barkley, as well as fellow mom friends. She also enjoys trying new restaurants in Phoenix and loves traveling and learning about different cultures.
